Nebraska in Autumn

Last October, I visited Nebraska for the first time for a wedding. Along with a number of friends, I stayed at the Wunder Roost, a lovely bed and breakfast on a farm south of Lincoln. It was a beautiful introduction to the Great Plains. Growing up in New Hampshire and instilled from childhood with a deep love for hills and valleys and brooks and winding roads, I expected to find the plains stark and unwelcoming.

I did not, however. And while I still prefer the topography of New England, Nebraska won me over a bit. I took an early-morning stroll with my camera around the Wunder Roost farm, and the owners of the place kindly gave me permission to share the photos of their property here.
